Nasarawa Amazons Football Club of Lafia hard-as-nails defensive midfielder Abdulwaheed Farida and Akerekoromwei Janet the super striker, headlines the 25 Players invited to camp by Flamingos Head Coach, Bankole Olowookere ahead of the WAFU B U17 Girls Cup competition slated for Ghana from December 12 – 26, 2024.

Abdulwaheed Farida was among the key squads that made a heroic quarterfinals performance at the just concluded 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

Akekeromowei Janet of Nasarawa Amazons, was part of the U20 Falconets that played in the Costa Rica Republic, also made the curt for the WAFU B tournament in Ghana.

Included in the squad is midfielder Shakirat Moshood, who scored four goals at the tournament with First-choice goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma, defenders Taiwo Adegoke, Jumai Adebayo and Prisca Nwachukwu, and forwards Harmony Chidi, Peace Effiong .

The Flamingos are drawn in Group B of the two-week, six-team competition with Ivory Coast and Niger Republic.

Hosts Ghana are in Group A alongside Burkina Faso and Benin Republic.

The Invited players are to report at the Remo Stars Sports Institute, Ikenne, Ogun State on Tuesday, December 03, 2024.
