The Nigerian Premier Football League U-17 Youth All Stars has ended the second phase of their camping in Abuja.
The team concluded the second phase of the camping with a keenly contested friendly match against Greenlock FC which ended 0-0 at the Goal Project of Package B of the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja.
The NPFL U-17 Youth All Stars that is gearing up for the tour of Spain started the second phase of the camping with a slim 1-0 victory over Access Football Academy of Abuja before their second match which they also won 1-0 against Legacy Football Academy also of Abuja.
The results of the matches showed that the team is improving as they did not lose a single match in the second phase of the camping.
While highlighting the progress made so far, head coach of the team Ken Chukwu is happy with the team saying the players are responding to training.
“It is not about the results, the friendly was organized to build their confidence, shooting accuracy and to make them fit. We shall round up the training when we resume for the final phase of the camping on December 15”.
“We are progressing, the players are responding to the techniques we are giving them. I can tell you that the team will be ready and make Nigeria proud in Sevilla, Spain”.
Captain of the team Oscar James said he will do all within his power to help his team when they travel to Spain adding that his dream is to get good club that will sign him after the tour.
“We are improving as a team. We have played three games, two wins and a draw which I think is good going forward. I will try my best to help the team so that we can achieve our goals when we go out to represent Nigeria because my dream is to sign for a good club after the tour”.
NPFL Chairman Hon. Gbenga Elegbelye and NPFL U-17 Youth All Stars Chairman Chief Emeka Inyama were on ground during the friendly game against Greenlock FC on Saturday.
The NPFL All Stars will on December 15 resume camping for the final preparation for the tour of Spain and Portugal.
