CHAN Eagles Begin Intensive Training in Abuja Ahead of Ghana Clash

The Super Eagles B team, also known as the CHAN Eagles, has commenced its second week ,today November 5, 2024  of camping in Abuja, preparing for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) final qualification matches against Ghana in December.

According to Ademola Olajire, Director of Communications at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the team resumed camping on Tuesday at the FIFA Goal Project Pitch in Abuja.

The home-based Super Eagles, under the guidance of Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen, are gearing up for the crucial encounter against Ghana.

The team underwent light physical training and tactical drills, with 26 players present on the first day of camp. Nine additional players are expected to join on Wednesday.

Eguavoen  has invited 35 players for the 2025 African Nations Championship qualifying fixture against Ghana.

The list includes:

Goalkeepers: Ohisodumeya Osagie (Rivers United); Henry Ozomena (Enyimba FC); Mohammed Galadima (Nasarawa United)
Defenders: Wisdom Ndom (Akwa United); Stephen Mayo (Rivers United); Ifeanyi Onyebuchi (Enugu Rangers); Ismail Sadiq (Remo Stars); Yusuf Isa (Bayelsa United).
Abba Maigari (El-Kanemi Warriors); Taiwo Abdulrafiu (Rivers United); Kabiru Mohammed (Kwara United); Junior Nduka (Remo Stars); Victor Collins (Nasarawa United); Abbas Usman (El-Kanemi Warriors);
Midfielders: Innocent Godwin (Abia Warriors); Jide Fatokun (Remo Stars); Musa Zayad (El-Kanemi Warriors); Saviour Isaac (Enugu Rangers); Eze Ekwutoziam (Enyimba FC); Aimufua Aisosa (Kwara United); Tochukwu Michael (Remo Stars).

The CHAN Eagles will face Ghana in the first leg of the qualification series from December 20 to December 22, with the return leg scheduled for December 27 to December 29, 2024.

The winner over two legs will earn a slot at the 8th edition of the competition exclusively reserved for footballers plying their trade in their country’s domestic League.

The finals will take place across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania from  February 1 to February 28, 2025.
Further training schedules and arrangements will be communicated in due course.The first week camp open in Abuja on October 29, 2024.
