The Nigerian Flying Eagles, defending champions of the WAFU B Under 20 tournament, departed Lagos on Tuesday for Lome, Togo, ahead of the competition.

The team, comprising 20 Under-20 players, technical crew led by Coach Aliyu Zubair, and Nigeria Football Federation officials, left Mohammed Muritala Airport after completing their final camp phase in Ikenne.

The WAFU B Under 20 tournament serve as Qualifiers for 2025 CAF Under 20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The tournament serves as a qualifying series for the 2025 CAF Under 20 Africa Cup of Nations, with the two finalists securing tickets to the regional competition.

Nigeria is grouped in Group B alongside Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.

Flying Eagles’ Opening Match will face -off Burkina Faso on Friday, October 18, at 3 pm local time at the Municipal Stadium in Lome.

The team boasts talented players from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Nigeria National League (NNL), Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO), and non-league clubs, including two foreign-based players.
