sword VC shocked former National Division 2 Champions, LifeCamp VC 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-23). The game started with LifeCamp trying to assert their presence, but Sword VC led displayed remarkable skill and teamwork.
The first set was a nail-biter, with LifeCamp pushing hard, but Sword pulled away just enough to clinch it 25-21. The second set saw Sword VC ramp up their intensity, with powerful spikes and deft blocks, ending it 25-19. LifeCamp fought valiantly in the third set, but Sword’s relentless defense and sharp serves sealed the victory at 25-23, giving them a perfect record of 3-0.
Meanwhile, UCEM VC was up against Safety Spikers in what promised to be an equally thrilling encounter which ended 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-17). UCEM, known for their strategic plays, quickly took control of the match. The first set was tightly contested, but UCEM managed to edge out a 25-21 victory.
The second set showcased the grit of both teams, with Safety Spikers putting up a fight, but UCEM held their nerve, clinching it 26-24. The final set saw UCEM dominate, ending with a score of 25-17, solidifying their unbeaten status alongside Sword VC.
In a closely contested match, G-Ranks faced Katsina United. The game was a rollercoaster, with both teams trading blows. G-Ranks took the first set 25-20, but Katsina United struck back, leveling the match 1-1 with a 25-19 win.
The tension escalated as G-Ranks fought back to take the third set 25-18, but Katsina United refused to back down, winning the fourth set 25-22. Katsina United edged out G-Ranks 15-11 in the nail-biting decider (5th set), showcasing their resilience and earning a hard-fought victory.
The Division 1 matches wrapped up with a dominant performance by NAF Rockets against Kwara United VC. NAF Rockets showcased their prowess with a sweeping victory, winning all three sets convincingly: 25-13, 25-18, 25-20.
In the National Division 2 League, Defence Spikers continued their unbeaten run against Bayelsa Spikers 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-19), while Wikki Queens defeated Ekiti Queens 3-0 (26-24, 25-16, 25-18) in the women’s Division 1 League.
