Chippa United’s goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is the second player to arrive in Uyo as Nigeria gears up for their crucial AFCON 2025 qualifier against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya this weekend, after fellow goalkeeper Amos Obasogie.

Nwabali, who has been in fine form for his club in the South African Premier Division, is expected to lead the goalkeeping department as the team looks to secure vital points in their home-and-away encounters.

More players are expected to join the camp in the coming days as Nigeria intensifies preparations for the must-win doubleheader.

Nigeria takes on Libya on Oct 11 before traveling to Benghazi three days later for the second tie.

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying Match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Mediterranean Knights of Libya will take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Friday, 11th October 2024, starting from 5pm.
