Gymnastics Star Dida Ubi Shines Bright for Cross River State

Dida Ubi, a gymnastics sensation from Cross River State, is stealing the show at the 8th National Youth Games in Asaba.

With an impressive haul of one gold, two silvers, and one bronze medal, she’s cementing her status as Nigeria’s rising gymnastics star.

Coached by the renowned Mr. Anthony Asuquo, Dida’s team has been dazzling audiences with their remarkable performances.

Her achievements have earned widespread acclaim and admiration, and she’s grateful for the opportunity to showcase her talents on a grand stage.

Dida expressed her heartfelt thanks to God for her natural talent and to His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, the executive governor of Cross River State, for his unwavering support.

She also praised Mr. Asuquo’s expert coaching, which has been instrumental in honing her skills and those of her teammates.

The 8th National Youth Games in Asaba is showcasing the best of Nigeria’s young sporting talents, with 36 states and the FCT participating, except for Rivers State.

Other notable performers include Esther Amarachi Chijioke from Edo State, who won three gold medals in weightlifting on day one.

The games, which started on September 12, will run until September 19, featuring various sports like karate, wrestling, judo, and cycling and featuring athletes from states and the FCT, except for Rivers State .

The National Youth Games aim to discover young talents and contribute to the nation’s economic development through sports.

With the Honourable Minister of Sports, Sen. John Owan Enoh, at the helm, the games are poised to make a lasting impact

 A total of 127 gold, 122 silver, and 157 bronze medals have been awarded so far .
