Nigeria Under 15 male national team , Future Eagles defeated Nigeria Under 17 Female Football team,Flamingos ,2-0 in a warm-up game played at the Moshood Abiola National stadium,FIFA Goal Project Abuja on Wednesday.

Two  goals in the first half wrapped up the  heavy blow  for the Flamingos who  fought well but were unable to score against  Future Eagles.

The Flamingos are part of the teams that will partake in the  2024 FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic from October  16th to November, 3rd, 2024.

This is the second phase of the FIFA program  that started on Sunday with players from across the country  arriving in camp.

The  events will be played in two Dominican cities: in the capital Santo Domingo, at the Felix Sanchez Stadium, and in Santiago de los Cabelleros, at the CFC Stadium.

The 16 participating teams will be divided into four groups of four. The top two teams in each group qualify for the quarter finals. This will be followed by semi-finals, a match for third place and the final.

In the group stage, matches will be played at 4pm and 7pm (local time), while kick-offs will be at 3:30pm and 7pm in the quarter-finals.

The first semi-final will be played on 30th October at 7pm, in Santiago de los Cabelleros, while the second will take place 24 hours later in Santo Domingo.

The third place match will be played at Santo Domingo at 2:30pm and the final kicking off at 6pm on November 3rd, 2024.

Group A: Dominican Republic, Ecuador, New Zealand, Nigeria

Group B: Spain, USA, Korea Republic, Colombia

Group C: Korea DPR, Mexico, Kenya, England

Group D: Japan, Poland, Brazil, Zambia

Flamingos are in Group A with the hosts, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and News Zealand.
Flamingos secured the ticket to represent  the country  after defeating  their counterpart  Liberian 2-0 on the second leg match in Abuja .
Flamingos  had an expectational performance in all their games in the qualifying series.
They had  a 12-0 aggregate win (6-0 in each leg) against Central African Republic in the second round,.
They had  7-1 aggregate against Burkina Faso (1-1 in the first leg and 6-0 in the second  match.
In the third round they defeated Liberia  4-1  in Monrovia in the final round, first leg encounter, then have 6-1 aggregate from the first match second match.
