Declan Rice has apologised to his Arsenal teammates and membership followers after be was despatched off in Saturday’s lunchtime fixture towards Brighton on the Emirates.
With Arsenal 1-0 forward due to Kai Havertz first half opener, Rice was proven his yellow card simply 4 minutes into the second half.
The previous West Ham captain was adjudged to have deliberatly kicked the ball away regardless of the referee awarding a free-kick to Brighton.
The guests capitalised on their numerical benefit and equalised due to Joao Pedro.
All efforts by Brighton to seek out the winner was thwarted as Arsenal held on to earn some extent.
“I feel from my behalf, that’s my first sending off in my profession, so I simply needed to apologise clearly to my teammates, which I’ve achieved, and to the followers,” Rice was quoted by Arsenal Information Central.
“Once you get despatched off, it’s by no means good, you get a way of guilt over you, and I used to be fortunate right now that my teammates actually helped me out and we didn’t lose the sport. I’ll study from it.”
Rice would now miss the North London derby towards Tottenham Hotspur of their subsequent league fixture.
