Offa volleyball club beat Nigeria Immigration Service  at 2024 Comptroller General of  Customs Volleyball Premier League

 

 

 

Offa Volleyball Club of Kwara who are the defending champion on Monday,  defeated  Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) 3-0 (25-19,  25-23 , 25-20) to record their first win at the ongoing first phase of the 2024 Comptroller General of  Customs ( CGC) Volleyball Premier League at the indoor hall of Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

NIS started the game on a high note and velocity getting vital points off Offa Volleyball Club but couldn’t sustain the momentum in all the three sets.
Offa Volleyball Club maintained the momentum to win by 25 to 19 points in the first set.
The second set  was entertaining as both teams showed class with their defences from lose ball,  leading the set by points before Offa Volleyball Club  picked the two points  25-23.
The NIS team resumed the third set looking more determined, but Offa Volleyball Club  rally and picked the point  25-20.
Offa Volleyball Club who had become the first privately owned club to lift the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League title back to back.

In 2023 volleyball season, Offa Volleyball Club beat Nigeria Security and  Civil Defense (NSCDC) 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 25-17) in the men’s final to retain their title won in the 2022 volleyball season.

 

 

Coach of Offa Volleyball Club, Suleiman Ajeigbe  hope to win

the back to back victory in the 2024 Premier League .

He said, “It is neither by our power nor our might but by the creator of heaven and earth; Offa Volleyball club gives glory to Allah. I will forever worship my Lord for granting me this unique success at the ongoing League.
“ This is a result of hard work plus years of developmental programs; our plan in Offa Volleyball Club  is to make history with Nigeria Volleyball,” he said.
Ajeigbe recognized the efforts of President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation ( NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod in transforming volleyball in Nigeria.
He said, “I must not fail to commend the President for his efforts in ensuring volleyball develops in Nigeria.
“ I can tell you that we are getting to our desired destination with the new  sponsorship by the Nigeria customs service we are there.
“ We are going to be playing Nigeria Customs Service in our next game,”he said.
Mangani Ibrahim , Coach Of Nigeria Immigration Service Volleyball, said today , the boys try in their first game but before our next match we will work on our mistakes .
“ The coaches have seen  the player’s deficits and  we hope to see them improving in their next match.
“ We believe that we will perform well and with the sets of players that are on ground for this league  am sure we will perform better than last season.

Kada Kings beat Nigeria Customs Service 3-2 in their first match at the 2024 CGC Volleyball Premier League in Abuja.

 NSCDC v Nigeria Correctional Service (1-3)
1st set: 25-22
2nd set: 19-25
3rd set: 20-25

The 2024 edition of volleyball premier league is organized by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) in collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service  ( NCS) as  the sole sponsor .
A total of 24 teams which consists  of 12 men’s and 12 women’s  teams.
The men’s teams are; Offa VC (Defending Champions), NSCDC, Kano Pillars, Nigeria Customs Service, Kada Kings, COAS Spikers, Nigeria Correctional Service, Spartan Spikers VC, Sunshine Spikers, CNS Spikers, Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Immigration Service
While CNS Spikers, NSCDC, COAS Spikers, Kada Emeralds, Life Camp VC, Anambra Queens, Olalomi Royal VC, Benue Queens, Kwara United VC, Nigeria Immigration Service, NAF Rocket VC, and Nigeria Customs Service are in the women’s category.
The first phase of the  League which started  on August  24th to  September  10 , 2024.
