IHF Women’s Under 18 Handball World Championship Nigeria lose to Chinese Taipei

Nigeria Under 18 Women handball team, on  Thursday, lost 29-22 to Chinese Taipei in a placement match in the Olympics Sports Center at the ongoing  international Handball Federation (IHF ) Women’s World Under 18 Handball Championship in Chuzhou, China.

The girls who have been having a rollercoaster of experience at their first world championship, started the match with a struggle whilst conceding 7 meters goals by the Chinese Taipein team thereby ensuring they lost the first half 17-13.

The second half, however saw the Coach Shittu Adewunmi Agboola’s tutored team play with vigour and determination to reduce the deficit.

They scored 15 goals in the second half most of which came in from near goal but they continued to play catch to Chinese Taipei who defended better and scored more goals to win 29-22.

Altogether, Nigeria had 45 shots and had 49% all shots efficiency while also having a 100% fastbreak efficiency as well.

Nigeria  will play Kosovo on Friday at the Olympics Sports Center in Chuzhou, China.

The 2024 IHF Women’s Under 18 Handball World Championship is the 10th edition of the IHF Women’s Youth World Championship.

The championship which  started on August 14 – August  25, 2024  in Chuzhou, China.
