Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has thrown his help behind Israel Adesanya to defeat present middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis of their title struggle at UFC 305 in Perth, scheduled for 3 AM (WAT) on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

Adesanya, a former two-time UFC middleweight champion, burst into tears throughout their press convention on Friday, August 16 after Du Plessis accused fighters with African descent of neglecting their roots.

The South African asserted that the belts gained by Francis Ngannou, Kamaru Usman, and Adesanya weren’t legit victories for the continent, claiming that he’s the true “African fighter” within the UFC.

Consoling Adesanya forward of the struggle tonight, Ngannou, who is ready to return to MMA in a struggle towards 2023 Skilled Fighters League (PFL) heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira on October 19, inspired him to stay targeted.

“The world belongs to those that imagine; tonight, it’s all yours, my brother,” Ngannou wrote by way of his ‘X’ (previously Twitter) on Saturday.

Tensions have flared in anticipation of the struggle between Adesanya and Du Plessis tonight.
