Paris Olympics: Tobi Amusan qualifies for Women’s 100m Hurdles semifinals
World record holder, Oluwatobiloba Amusan, has won her heat with 12.49 seconds on the clock in the women’s 100m hurdles at Stade de France in the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics in France.
The 27-year-old filed out in lane nine of the first heat of the event’s didn’t break a sweat as she qualified for the semifinals of the women’s 100m Hurdles , winning her heat in a time of 12.49s.
United States, Alaysha Johnson finished second position with a time of 12.61s while Jamaica’s Janeek Brown came third position with a time of 12.84s
The Nigerian track and field sensation has now qualified for the semi-finals of women’s 100m Hurdles at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In spite her impressive collection of medals from various competitions, including the World Championship, Commonwealth Games, African Championship, African Games, and Diamond League, an Olympic medal has eluded her.
Amusan’s Olympic journey began in 2016 at the Rio Games, where she reached the semifinals.She came agonizingly close to a medal at the Tokyo Olympics, finishing fourth.
